Hi there! I’m Bethany. I’m a desert rat from the Southwest who presently lives in the Midwest. I would have stayed in the land of cacti, arid mountains, and sunshine if a certain handsome law student hadn’t tempted me away. After a whirl-wind courtship (2 months) and engagement (9 months), I became his wife and life has been a crazy adventure ever since.
We’ve been married 6 years. In that time, we have lived in 4 states and 7 homes, changed jobs 4 times, and made 3 babies. Our oldest and only girl is 5. The boys are 4 years and 7 months old. They are the world’s cutest kids.
I am a lawyer by training and a wife/mother/homemaker by profession. Edith Schaeffer, Susan Schaeffer Macaulay, Charlotte Mason, Jessica Hulcy, Heather Haupt, my mother-in-law and my mom are my main influences. I alternatively love and hate my job, but I wouldn’t quit it for the world. I am literally forming the next generation and there cannot be anything more challenging or satisfying. Plus, I am never, never bored.
When I’m not nursing, wiping a bum, reading picture books or answering the endless stream of questions issuing from my children’s mouths, I enjoy knitting, sewing, reading, and sipping wine on the deck with my husband after a long day. I would like to describe myself as a gardener, but, unfortunately, the local deer are far more acquainted with my work product than I am.
If you have any suggestions for dealing with the deer or otherwise have a question or comment, you can reach me at bethany at everything to someone dot com!
