Hidden Art Friday

It’s finally spring in New Jersey. I’ve got my camera out, and have been loving the natural light and the beautiful trees. This picture was from our weekend in Gettysburg a few weeks ago (sometimes, if you need a weekend away, you have to bribe the menfolk with trips to a battlefield :)) The battlefield was beautiful, and always amazes me with the juxtaposition of gorgeous nature with the horror of the battle that was fought there. What a blessing from God that he renews the earth!

Spring in New Jersey

While I don’t have a ton for you today, I’ve got a few links from around the web in the past couple weeks that I have found helpful and/or funny.

Here’s a great post called “Having Babies in Opposite World.

Here’s a post from Rachel Jankovic that made the rounds this week: “The Real Life of the Pro-Life Home,” talking about the sacrifice of self that comes with mothering.

This snapshot of different ways to announce your pregnancy from Apartment Therapy made me laugh out loud.

And I made these waffles for breakfast Wednesday morning, and they were amazing.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Get out and enjoy spring!!

I made those waffles this week, too! They are yummy, and I love starting something the night before. They also work great with whole wheat flour or a variety of other flours/grains. I’ve put in 1/2 c. of cornmeal or thrown in some rolled oats – the former made it a bit crunchier, the latter a bit chewier.

I can’t wait to see you next week!
