Hidden Art Friday: Healthy Snack Week Edition

Healthy Snack Week

Did you all have a happy Independence Day? We had a fun barbeque with friends, and I made this yummy red, white, and blue trifle.  Don’t you just feel patriotic looking at it?

For this week’s Hidden Art Friday, I thought I’d share some pinterest-inspired snacks for the times when you want to do something special.  Honestly, I don’t do cute stuff like this on a daily basis, but here are some fun ideas for birthday parties or kiddie pool play dates this summer:

I love this idea of using mini cookie cutters to core apple slices.

My kids would love it if I made these sunshine snacks.

Or these orange slice butterflies.  Or these berry-nut-banana ones!

I see variations of the fruit caterpillar everywhere on pinterest, but this mom has a whole meal of bug-themed treats.

Why have I never before thought of putting watermelon on a stick?!

Speaking of sticks, these rainbow fruit kabobs look so pretty.

My son looked over my shoulder when I found this watermelon train and asked to make it right away!

I’ve did these apple-grape cars (and a pear-blueberry variation, pictured below) for T’s birthday party last year, and it was a huge hit with all the little boys.
