lego birthday party 007

I talked on Monday about our family’s birthday traditions.  I thought it would be funny to show you the lego cake that I made per T’s request.  The inspiration came from this one here.  Mine…was not so neat.  I laughed every time I looked at it!  But my friend Katie who brought her son over T’s party reminded me that this is what a seven year old’s birthday cake should look like!  And it tasted GOOD.  Yes, it might have sunk a little in the middle because it was originally a bundt cake recipe, but it is our absolute favorite birthday cake recipe (from here), much tastier than 99% of the professional cakes I’ve eaten.  (And I’ll add the cake recipe to our pinterest board, if you want to repin from us there!)

I’m excited to announce that for the month of March, we’ll be hosting Mentor Mondays here on the blog.  I’ve asked some of my Titus 2 mentors to share with us, and we’ll get to hear their wisdom on topics like being a single mom for a season, quiet times with little kids around, reading with our families, and setting goals.

And remember that if you’re in or wanting to join our book club on Ten Ways to Destroy the Imagination of Your Child, we’re reading Method 1 this week and are discussing it on our facebook forum.

Have a lovely weekend!
