Happy Friday, everybody!
Sadly, I don’t even have one picture for you today. We have been so sick with what I have been affectionately referring to as “the plague,” that nothing else, not even picture taking, has been happening this week. It hit all of us at once, which in some ways is nice (although not when I need to take care of sick kids and just want to die myself), and even gave two of my girls mild croupe, if there is such a thing (and in the middle of the night, the answer is NO).
Fortunately, we had a question off the e2s facebook page to help me fill space this morning. Amy asked:
What is your take on immunizations? Do you think the schools should be able to not let children attend if they are not vaccinated?
For us, vaccinations fall into the same category as sleep habits. Whatever your practice and beliefs are on vaccination fall squarely into the category of ‘Christian Freedom.’ If you’d like to look back at our posts on sleep, which talk more about the Christian Freedom within parenting, you can see mine here, and Emily’s here. Emily and I each have our own stance on vaccination, but I’m not even going to mention it here. Sorry–we don’t need that kind of negative publicity!
As far as schools go, I believe public school policy is decided by either the school board or maybe set by laws? I’m not even sure. And it seems to me that private schools would be at their own discretion regarding their policies.
I hope everybody has plans to enjoy the beautiful fall weather! Have a wonderful weekend!
